Obesity.

It’s a yucky word with a social stigma, but it’s also a very real issue. It affects more than one-third of adults and 17% of youth in the US. No state currently has an adult obesity rate of less than 20%.

Why does it matter?

It’s increasing your risk for chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure, and making existing conditions worse.

Excess weight has the same risks for your children, now and for the rest of their life.

What can you do?

Include your children in your own action plans. Help them build healthy habits while they’re young!
