In addition to providing an exciting Saturday morning activity, your local farmers market has a lot of worthwhile benefits. If you’re new to the farmers market thing, you’ve come to the right spot. We recently shared a few behind the scenes thoughts in our vlog post, but today, we’re getting into the real nitty-gritty of why shopping local is better for your health.

We visited one of Birmingham’s local markets, The Market at Pepper Place, and talked with a few farmers about why their produce is better, tastier, and healthier than that in the grocery store. From higher nutrients to no pesticides, all in all, local produce is the way to go.
