The other day we sat down with Angela Boatwright, one of our Pack Health members, to discuss her recent success in the program and see how she has been doing!

What has been your favorite part of the Pack Health program?

Definitely the tiny steps! With other services, I was just told to have weight goals each week or month, but you guys give me specific tasks to get there – like drinking more water. Having the before and after pictures is also really encouraging. I have lost 35.5 inches since I started the program, so I’m glad I have been keeping pictures of my progress to motivate me!

What has been your biggest obstacle throughout your journey?

Working while being on this program can be a struggle sometimes. Occasionally I’ll not have the time to meal prep, or if I have a long day at work I wouldn’t want to work out when I come home. So, now I get up before work and exercise. It’s just about making the little changes like that.

What have you most improved on since joining?

I think I have improved in a lot of ways because of Pack Health! For one, I am a lot more consistent with exercising. Having someone to remind me and motivate me with that kind of stuff helps a bunch. Portion control has been huge for me too (or small)! I found out I was eating way more protein than I needed, and not enough vegetables. I also realized how crazy the portions at some restaurants are. I used to eat my meal not paying attention to the amount of food I was eating, but recently I started packaging half of it to eat for leftovers before I even start eating. My cholesterol has gone down 51 points since starting too, so I think I have been doing well.

What is your exercise routine like?

I’m currently doing 80 Day Obsession, which I enjoy. It has a great mixture of exercises, and it’s different every day which is great. Some days its cardio, or some days its abs. It keeps it fresh and exciting! I mostly work out at home, and I love it. It is really helpful because all I have to do is walk to the living room. The hardest part is putting my feet on the floor!

Tell me about your relationship with Alison! How has she helped you live a healthier life?

She is so great and encouraging. She always tries to listen for where I struggle so we can talk and overcome those specific things. She looks up videos and recipes to help all the time. She actually sent me a goodie bag (which I had no idea about) with water bottles and a large shirt. But, she also put a medium shirt in the basket to hint that I’ll be wearing that soon, which was so sweet. She helps me remember that it’s a process, and won’t be just done in one week.

Do you have any advice for people who are working on their health?

Always keep moving forward, even if you think you can’t. We all need someone in our corner cheering us on. I thought I wouldn’t like Pack Health at first because I didn’t know who I was talking to and forming this relationship with. But, it honestly is better that way. I have someone that doesn’t know me and is just giving me objectively good advice for better health. She isn’t sugarcoating it or just telling me what I want to hear. She just tells me how to live healthier! I also want to add that it’s not just about the scale, It is about so much more. Just stick with it!
