How did you find out about Pack Health and what made you sign up?

I got an email at work. I work at Regions, and it mentioned something about a personal Health Advisor. I thought it would be someone to help with my nutrition, but it ended up being so much more. I’m overwhelmed with the support I’ve gotten. I can’t believe it’s included in my health insurance, it’s amazing!

What has been your favorite part about being a Pack Health member?

I really like the communication I get from my Health Advisor. It’s almost every day, and especially on the weekends when I have free time and should be exercising. It keeps it fresh in my mind. We talk at lunch, and she moves her lunch around just to talk to me. It really motivates me to know someone is giving just as much as I am, if not more! It’s really personal, and everything I’ve asked for she’s provided. The resources are amazing. Especially the exercise videos! I LOVE the park bench exercises! I could never come up with all that! I don’t have a gym membership yet, so it’s awesome to see other ways to exercise.

How has your experience with Jen been so far?

She’s awesome! Jen is diligent and very responsible. Every time I ask for something, she follows through. She’s so consistent and encouraging. It’s not at ALL shaming. She reminds me of the progress I’ve made so far. I’m building new habits, and she’s been instrumental in that. I don’t realize how much I’ve done and then she reminds me of the progress I have made! She also invited me to an upcoming cooking demo at Railroad Park.

Do you have any specific Tiny Steps you’d like to share?

Yes! Exercising one day a week is where I started. One day each week I walk for 20 minutes, and it counted for something! Another one is to try and eat a healthy snack, so I’m not as hungry. I haven’t talked to Jen about it yet, but it’s really helped me keep my metabolism going.

What is your favorite meal to make/eat?

I love quesadillas. It might be a bit of a splurge, but I add spinach to get some vegetables in and I’ll add mushrooms and red onions.

What is one thing you want to accomplish this year?

I want to lose 10 pounds by the end of the year! I think it would help get me to a healthier place! But I’m looking for a lifestyle change and not using a scale to track it. I don’t want to starve the weight off, I want my life to change!

How has Pack Health impacted how you function at work?

It’s caused me to be more active, and sometimes if the elevator is taking too long, I’ll take the stairs! I’m way more aware of ways to be active. Or, if I’ve been sitting for an hour, I’ll stand up and stretch. It helps my knees and helps me to stay loose. It also has greatly reduced my aches and pains.

Lastly, I just want to share how much the program offers. I’m very resourceful and I’m always looking for things. Pack Health has tripled my expectations for my health! There’s so much out there, but nothing as great as Pack Health. It has definitely added value to my benefits at Regions. I’m just so impressed and I’m benefiting from it! It’s amazing how much of an impact one person can have on my life. It’s a really relaxed phone call and it’s made such a difference. I pictured someone from CrossFit screaming at me, but it’s not like that, it’s very gentle. It’s so effective!
