NATIONAL PSORIASIS FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH PACK HEALTH:
Launching an Engagement Program for Patients with Psoriasis
Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that causes raised, red, scaly patches to appear on the skin. It is not a contagious condition, patients are just producing skin cells faster than normal. There are different types of psoriasis, as well as varying degrees of severity. It can appear anywhere on the body, but most typically affects the outside of the elbows, knees, or scalp. Psoriasis may also be associated with other serious health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease and depression. There are a number of topical treatments available for psoriasis. To treat more severe cases, doctors may also prescribe phototherapy (also known as light therapy) and/or systemic medications (including biologic drugs).
The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) and Pack Health are announcing the launch of the Psoriasis Pack, a program that will provide resources and support between clinical visits for patients with psoriasis nationwide. The program is designed to help patients with psoriasis of any type, and at any stage. The Psoriasis Pack will provide enrolled patients with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to understand the specifics of their condition and available treatment options, to manage flare-ups, and to obtain the care they need. If you’re a clinician and want to prescribe the program, a patient who wants to get on the list, or a company that would like to support this project, contact Pack Health at firstname.lastname@example.org or 855-255-2362.
