Can you tell us a little bit about how you found out about Pack Health and what made you want to sign up?

Well, I got a letter in the mail through PEEHIP and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and I was extremely curious about what Pack Health had to offer, but I was hesitant to commit. But, I ultimately decided I needed to give it a try so I signed up!

We’re so happy to have you here! How has your experience been so far? How’s it been with Evan?

I view Evan as my captain and my coach. He’s been incredible since day one and has truly been a source of encouragement for me. I used to think that when eating at a buffet, I needed to get my money’s worth, but Evan helped change my outlook. He suggested I try eating smaller amounts of food, then spend time fellowshipping with the people I’m eating with. It’s worked out great so far!

Tell us about an obstacle you have experienced during your journey?

Portions have been tough for me. Evan has helped me learn the food chart and how to make my meals healthy plate compliant, including abiding my portion recommendations. He said to always make sure you enjoy what you eat!

What is your favorite/go-to healthy meal to make?

Lots of vegetables. I love anything green! I like to make broccoli and green beans, especially. Before I started working with Evan, I ate whatever I wanted, but now, he’s encouraged me to try new, healthier foods like hummus. I never imagined myself eating something like spinach! I also struggled with diabetes so losing weight was tough, and honestly, the weight just wasn’t coming off, but Evan’s really helped me with that and I’m started to see some improvements!

What’s been your favorite part about the Pack Health program so far?

Evan calling once a week and sending me email reminders to remember my Tiny Steps has been amazing. He’s helped me set goals that are attainable, but he’s also helped me realize that it’s okay if I don’t always reach my goals. He’s been so friendly and encouraging through this process and I look forward to our weekly calls! I also have no problem getting myself to exercise. I get 4 to 5 days a week of exercise in! Yoga and Pilates are two of my favorites.
